The annual Minted x Pottery Barn Kids design challenge is always, well, a challenge.
This year I got a little more insight into what they wanted and I was particularly inspired by the phrase 'the hand of the artist'.
Alphabets are always big sellers for kids rooms, so I decided to design a farm alphabet poster. I knew it was going to turn out nice by how much I was enjoying it. If I'm not excited to get to my desk every day, it comes out either forced or rushed. I paid particular attention to hand-painting and collage to fulfil the brief and I was able to repurpose a few icons from an old surface design pattern too.
I'm really thrilled to have my first alphabet available exclusively at Pottery Barn (US only) and Minted this autumn.
My two other designs are in my shop. Be wonderful is a kind of modern heritage quilt and Bon Weekend has a vintage kids book style.
